Proposal and Terms & Conditions for Apparel Design Project

Below is the Our Working Process , by which our Apparel Designer Serve our clients. We are an equal opportunity service provider and the terms are same for all the apparel brands. Please read through the Details Thoroughly and send us the Tech Pack Style Detailing Sheet duly filled up so taht we can give you the best possible solution in Least possible timeline.

Project Time Line  : Time Line: 10 Days from the Project Start Date for Normal 5 Styles Design Project.

Working Process:

• Complete Rendered Illustration, Flat Sketch.
• Color Combo Details with rendered Illustration and Pantone Color mentioned
• Stitching and Construction details with Zoomed Illustrated details of important areas of the garment.
• Graphic details with Color combos.
• Embroidery Detailing
• Washing Detailing
• Graphic Placement Details
• Measurement Spec Sheet with size detail (Included measurement of all sizes)
• Trim details (Labels, Tags, and Accessories etc)
• Measurement Spec -Sheet.

Along with this we would also provide the Color Trend and Fabric Trend, Line sheet.

Project Facilitation Process:

• You may send Sketches / Inspiration picture of your garment to create technical design (Tech Pack and Spec Sheet).
• We provide Technical Design through Adobe Reader (PDF) files and Spec Sheet in Excel Sheet.
• If needed we can also send the source .CDR Corel Draw or .PDF Adobe PDF file.
• For Technical and Design Related Queries you may reach us through mail or through Skype Chat. 
• For the Production of Your clothing Line you may get in touch with us with your tech sheets.
• Once we have the tech sheets we will be able to access them and give you the costing and our terms for Apparel Production.

WE believe in Clarity in Information from our designers and from Clients. To Make the Process smoother, We request you to kindly download Tech Pack Design style detailing sheet for tech packs the fill the Attached Style Detailing Sheet for each style that you are going to design and develop the tech pack. Kindly go through the Attachment and Example Sheet to know how to fill the Specification Sheet.

Please fill One Sheet for one style for Example - Style #01 , Style #02 . This would give clarity on Each Style and Our Designers can understand styles much better way. You can send the Tech Pack Style Detailing Sheet to Paromita

Once we have the sheet we can start the work.

Payment Terms:

• 100% Advance Payment Payable on the Date of Starting Project if the Project Cost is Less than 1000 USD.
• 60% Advance Payable if the Project Cost is More than $10000 USD and Remaining 40% Payable at the End of the Project and Before the Vectors and Cad Files sent to you.
• Payment Details: We Accept Payment Through Secured Payment Methods Only That is PayPal 

Other Terms:

• Client has to approve and Give her comments for modification on any particular style within 2 working days of submitting the Flat sketch / Fabric Patterns / Illustrations.
• Once We move to the Tech Pack Design Stage There will not be any change on any patterns / style of the style previously approved by client.

FAQ Related to Tech Pack and Apparel Production from Real Customers

Is there beading and embroidery done in house or out sourced?

It is done in-house. Some work has been outsourced like machine embroidery and printing jobs.

Are the non-beaded garments made at your factory or out sourced?

Non Bided garments are stitched at my factory. However most of the ancillary jobs like printing, machine embroidery etc have been outsourced. I only do hand embroidery and hand crafted biddings in-house with my own workers.

What percentage of non beaded against beaded gets produced with your factory?

It all depends on the demand of the styles. There is no such hard and fast rule to have a ratio. But non-beaded work is more as most western wear cloths are usually plain.

Can you produce low quantities of styles?

The Minimum Order Quantity will depend on style. I cannot commit this before seeing the styles finalized.

What is the lead time for a sample from design/ sketch? Can these be emailed over to yourself?

This should take some 7 - 15 days time depending on the complexity of the style. I can email the picture of the sample as it gets completed.

Will a sample be sent to myself for approval before sealing?

If you wish to approve the sample yes. The cost for currier and shipment has to be borne by you.

How long after approval and sealing does production take?

The Production takes 1 month to 45 days.

What is your quality control process?

We take care of the quality of the goods internally with our QC. However, If you want to get your QC checked you can surely send somebody to our factory to check the quality of the garment and get this approved.

Does the cost of the garment include quality control and packing?

The Cost of the Garment Includes Packaging. Quality Control no . However, You are free to give this assignment to any independent authority.

What is the lead time from final production to delivery to my door (freight/ shipment).

The Lead time for the Production to Complete should be 30-45 days. However, Shipping is not done by us. Whatever we do we give Ex-Factory Price. You will have to take care of the Shipping.

Who are the carriers that you use for shipment/freight.

FedEx and DHL only for our regular customers and those who pay for the shipping beforehand.

what are the freight costs?

Comes out to be $22 / KG if the Weight is more than 100 KGs. This is variable.

what are the shipment costs?

Depends on the quantity
what are the delivery charges?

Borne by client so no idea.

what duty charges?

Import Duty is not mentioned as this is for your country.

What import charges?

Import Duty is not mentioned as this is for your country.

what packaging do you use and what are the costs?

Normal UK standard Packaging mostly as there is GSP verification done at UK and neighboring countries.

can you produce back neck labels / swing tickets/ washcare labels and what are the costs?

Is this included in the cost of the garment? This is included on the cost of the garment. But if you are having very less quantity of products this would be charged separate. This has its minimum of 1000 pcs / label.

Could you send me a sample of the labels / tags or what you can offer?

I can show high resolution picture of the labels that I prepare.

Effective Way to Work with a Freelance Fashion Designer

Working with Overseas Clothing Designers is as easy as working with a Designer Next Door. In Fact it would be much easier as compared to a Local Clothing Designer. You must be wondering how? Let me explain. Like Every Work has a process and has a Critical Path Method, In Apparel Designing there is a C.P.M which you must know if you are planning to work with a designer. Weather the Clothing designer is from Local Neighborhood or From Far Overseas the Process remains same. The work process gets easier if we follow few easy process. OK lets find out what are those.

Know Your Styles :

Many Apparel Brand owners when communicating with Clothing Designer weather Overseas or Domestic do not actually know what they want in their collection line-sheet. They Try to get in touch with a clothing designer. Typical Queries are like " I want to start a clothing line and want a designer to support me in designing my clothing line-sheet. With some cool design that goes with the current trend". Lets Examine this query : What is a Cool Design ?  defining this is the most difficult task for a clothing designer. Because as a clothing designer he/she does not know what this means for the client. The client is confused, the clothing designer is confused the product coming out great is a question. Very less chance that the design comes out as per the expectation of the client.

Contents of your  Line Sheet :

So it is important to communicate clearly the styles to the clothing designer. For Example : if you are looking for a Complete Collection, You should communicate the client like for Example : T-Shirts - 3 Styles, Polo - 2 Styles , Bottom - 4 Styles etc. This will clearly make the clothing designer understands what is the project size what is the styles he/she needs to work on. This give a clear understanding of the basic structure of your clothing line-sheet. Make sure your each style must have its 

Choose the Right Examples : 

Once you are ready with your Line-Sheet contains now you know what you need and its time to find out the right choice. You can just Google and find out the similar styles images available and put this on a folder after remaining the image as per the style name /number.

Make Sure your Line-Sheet has a decent number of styles. Mostly designer tend to ignore or keep the work for later if the Number of styles they need to work is less and keep the designs for a next free hours of work. So this gets delayed for the client as well.  Every Clothing Designer has a Minimum Design Styles Requirement that he can comfortably take up and proceed with the project. However, with 1 or 2 styles they tend to find some extra time where in they can complete this. So make sure you are communicating and providing the clothing designer with right information.
